064: Life with TBI-Rebecca Zitzmann

A Candid Conversation with a Warrior and Her Caregiver Mom.

Welcome to A BATTLE WITHIN, Episode 064

Welcome to A BATTLE WITHIN, Episode 064, I’m Drew Niemann.
Today on A BATTLE WITHIN, Terry, My wife and the inspiration for the program and I will be hearing from Rebecca Zitzmann and her mother and caregiver Bev.

Rebecca has experienced multiple head injuries over the years  beginning with one in 1996 and as recent as 2014.

Luckily Rebecca had a great support system through the years. Bev explains what it was like to be in her shoes as throughout the process as well.

The injuries Rebecca sustained in 2014 forced her to leave her chosen profession. But today she has adapted and spends a good deal of time blogging and vlogging about her experiences. This is all done in an effort to help others affected by the invisible injury.

As you listen into our conversation, it is important to note that Rebecca didn’t actually receive a diagnosis of a TBI and PCS until 2016. Despite her and her mothers persistence in trying to find out what was wrong throughout the years, it still lead to 20 years not knowing.

Along they way you will also pick up on the fact that Rebecca really began making headway in her recovery 20 years later as well. So if you are struggling hopefully this will give you some encouragement. Things can always get better no matter where you are in the journey.
