We talk about the internal struggle Terry faces with her new way of being
In today episode we explore a very serious concern that many of those with TBI’s including concussions struggle with.
- It is finding of oneself again
- It is a Sense of loss.
- It is a New Normal.
- It is accepting of the new me.
These are some terms used to describe this feeling of loss and change for PCS survivors. What we are referring to is the BATTLE WITHIN.
For those who do not know, experiencing a head trauma can not only injure, but actually change who you are. Processing this can tend to be a true grieving process coupled with an internal and very private tug of war.
The changes themselves cause a great deal of hardship on the survivor and at times their caregivers, their friends and or their families.
Today Terry and I talk about what it has meant in the Niemann household. We talk about how we have gotten to the point we are at today.
We are going focus specifically to her struggle, her particular BATTLE WITHIN.
